The Surrey Schools Football Association

Est. 1922 — a not-for-profit run by volunteers from the teaching profession and the wider community, affiliated to the English Schools FA. We oversee the development of schools football across Surrey and the historic county.

Who we are

The Surrey Schools FA (SSFA) is an extension of the English Schools FA (ESFA) and oversees the development of schools football in Surrey. Our role includes supporting the organisation and delivery of schools competitions, as well as providing a platform for regional and county representative teams to play fixtures.

By affiliating to the SSFA, schools and their pupils have access to almost 20 county competitions, with opportunities for boys and girls aged 9–18, and the chance to represent the county in national tournaments such as the PlayStation Schools’ Cup.

Schools football is a real pathway: former schools players from this area include Harvey Elliott (now Liverpool FC) and England youth international Ryan Sessegnon, who won the ESFA PlayStation Schools’ Cup in 2014 and 2015 with Coombe Boys’ School.

Child welfare & safeguarding

The safety and well-being of every participant in schools football comes first.

We strive to ensure that children involved in football are protected and happy while representing Surrey Schools FA at both county and district level, and we follow ESFA guidance to create a safe environment for our young players.

Sponsorship & supporters

Help us offer more opportunities to more pupils across Surrey.

Sponsorship keeps a volunteer-run association growing — from county team kit to pitch time for trials and training. Packages, other ways to support us, and the sponsors who already do are all on the sponsorship page.
